International World Thinking DAY!!

International World Thinking Day! What does it mean to you to empower girls and women?

As a mom to a little girl, I know I need to teach and empower her with the knowledge and skills to be the woman she wants to be.  An engineer, a teacher, a stay-at-home mom, an architect or anything her heart desires. There is no right way to be a girl or woman and in this world, with equalization being more prominent, I feel we as people need to change. We need to empower our society .

I believe we should demand respect while also being respectful.  In business, the male/female roles really piss me off. There is seniority and that’s it. If you are qualified and can get the job done THAT’S WHAT MATTERS. This is for all aspects of life. Don’t let yourself be bullied, but don’t be mean while doing it. There is right and wrong, if you are doing what is right then you have the power to be a great person.

I believe we should follow our hearts/dreams. If my daughter wants to play football and shoot guns, good for her. If I had a son and he wanted to take dance class and be an art teacher or a baker, good for him. What matters is that you do what you love.

I believe marriage and family life should be a mutual decision.  You are 2 separate people making the decision to become one family. As long you discuss and agree on things, your roles are what you chose. Both work, one work; bread winner, stay-at-home parent, etc. These  are the choices you have to make as a family.

Looking through some quotes and this one caught my attention.

“Feminism isn’t about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.” —G.D. Anderson

I believe that the world needs to change their perspective on roles. Women are strong, men are strong. Women are timid, men are timid. We are who we are and it’s okay to be different. We shouldn’t have to follow a certain “expectation” that we have to live up to, we should be empowered to be the  person we want to be.

Struggles of a working Mama

Today is one of those days that really suck to be a working mama. My DD had a belly ache all night, and when we rubbed her belly, lots of toot-toots came out. She was even able to do her business this am. So I thought all will be fine. When I sent her with my sister today, I could see the discomfort in her face. She complained of her tounge hurting, and I thought she would throw up right there. Nope. No fever, no vomiting just a sad girl with an achy belly. I am so torn on My decision to send her, but I am not sure what to do. I told my sister to call me if she needs anything or she gets worse.

30 Days of Thankfulness : Day 14

30 Days of Thankfulness : Day 14

My “something new” I’m thankful for would be how far technology has really come and how it allows you to keep up with friends and family on so many levels.

Facebook, we can share and catch up with everyone all at one spot.

While my husband is Hunting, we will text and call. When he would hint around his grandparents house we would Skype. The last time I saw his grandfather face was actually over a Skype call. he had left without really saying goodbye the morning I left our camping grounds up hunting so to be able to see him that one last time before he passed away was such a treasure.

I miss him so much and it triggers me to kiss my grand as well. This has been really hard.

30 Days of Thankfulness : Day 12

30 Days of Thankfulness : Day 12

My favorite gadget as ridiculous as it sounds is my phone. I email, Facebook, Pinterest, chat, text, call, and even blog from my phone. I have 64 GB of memory and love the fact that my pictures never slow my phone down.

Now don’t get me wrong, I could live without my phone, I do with hunting and camping but it is my favorite gadget.

30 Days of Thankfulness : Day 11

Day 11- My favorite tradition—this one is hard for me with the lost of my husband’s grandfather because I was really close to him as well. For the last 7 years we have not missed an opening day of deer season. This year, gpa did miss opening day and it was so weird, but he made the trip up a few days later. I actually took a full week this year so I was still able to see him. My daughter has not missed a deer season since in the womb, next year will be really rough.

My favorite holiday tradition would be seeing all our family and loved ones over the holiday seasons. As tiresome as it may be, it really is a true joy to make sure we spend time with everyone.
